Ash-Shifa School
Ash-Shifa School was developed because the trustees felt that the only way to resolve the educational needs of the Muslims was to establish a Muslim School. The school would be a way to overcome the difficulties arising from state school education, which is deficient in providing the basic requirements of a truly Islamic educational experience. This would provide children with an environment in which they could develop their Islamic personality alongside their academic performance. Ash-Shifa school, established in September 2002, was the first school with an Islamic ethos in Oxfordshire.

Weekend School
The weekend school provides Islamic Education for younger children between the ages of 5-13 years olds. We attempt to cover a variety of topics including from rules of worship to social activities.
Classes and study circles
We firmly believe that to change the community and its inhabitants, knowledge and education is the key. Seeking Knowledge is incumbent on every individual and it is through our acquisition of this sacred knowledge that we can truly understand our full potential as human beings. Ash-Shifa organises various classes throughout the week. These classes cater for all age ranges and educational abilities and for both brothers and sisters.
Lectures
Ash-Shifa organises regular lectures that are held in Banbury. A guest speaker is invited to talk on an issue within the religion of Islam.
Courses
The courses that Ash-Shifa organises stay firmly within the bounds of the traditional Islamic educational model and when possible traditional texts are used as an adjunct to the oral teaching method. The aim of these courses is to acquaint our students with the essential sciences [Fard al-Ayn] and to ignite in them the interest to pursue these sciences within traditional circles around the Muslim world. These are residential courses and are held annually.
Previous Courses organised by Ash-Shifa include:
Traditional Halaqa, Bradford 2006 - an 8-day retreat for traditional learning held at Madni Masjid in Bradford. (www.traditionalhalaqa.org)
Fard al ayn, Luton 2005- an 8-day retreat for traditional learning held at Jamia Masjid in Luton. (www.al-fountain.co.uk)
